The City Government of Bacoor and BioTen Energy Inc. officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on June 1, 2026, at the Strike Conference Room, marking a major step toward environmental sustainability and responsible waste management in the city.
The signing ceremony was organized by the City Government of Bacoor through the Office of the City Legal Service headed by Atty. Kim Nyca Lofranco. Present during the event were Mayor Strike B. Revilla, Atty. Khalid Atega Jr., SP Secretary, and Mr. Klan Alison, Chairman and Founder of BioTen Energy Inc.
The partnership aims to establish a citywide used cooking oil and grease waste collection program for households, residential communities, and food establishments. Collected waste oil will be processed and converted into high-quality biodiesel fuel, helping reduce environmental pollution while promoting renewable energy solutions.
Under the agreement, the City Government of Bacoor will implement policies requiring food businesses to properly dispose of used cooking oil through accredited collectors and will work closely with homeowners associations to establish collection points within subdivisions. These efforts will help address clogged drainage systems, blocked sewers, and flooding caused by grease buildup.
Meanwhile, BioTen Energy Inc. will fund, build, and operate the conversion facility at no cost to the city or residents, provide free collection containers and regular pick-up services, and process the collected oil into biodiesel that meets Philippine standards.
This innovative partnership reflects Bacoor’s commitment to environmental protection, sustainable development, and cleaner communities for future generations. 💚🌍
