I. OBJECTIVE OF THE BACOOR SENIOR CITIZENS

To provide assistance and support to the needs and well-being of the Senior Citizens of BAGONG BACOOR thru meaningful plans and program.

II. COVERAGE

The Senior Citizens in Bacoor is composed of 73 Barangays with ages 60 and above.

III. LAWS
  • An amendment of RA 7432 (1991) this law was enacted to give full support to the improvement of the total well being of senior citizens and their full participation in society considering that the are an integral part of the Philippine society. It expanded the coverage of the benefits and privileges of senior citizens and mandated an older person to be the head of the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA).
  • ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER (AO) NO. 177 S. 2004 of the Department of Health. This AO was issued to guide the drugs store, hospitals and other medical establishment in providing fair, just and quality health care to senior citizens. It also aims to pursue financial viability for hospitals, amidst economic and financial management constraints.
  • REPUBLIC ACT (RA) 7876 (1994) mandates the establishment of a center for senior citizens in LGUs to serve as a venue for the recreational, educational, health and social programs designed for the full enjoyment and benefits of the senior citizens.
IV. BENEFITS

RA 9257 provide the senior citizens with a 20% (twenty percent) discount on food, medicine, hospitalization, transportation and other expenses on services. It also grants the senior citizens a number of privileges such as provision of employment, free skills training and education among many others. Mayor Strike B. Revilla, upon assumption of the office, made effective the RA 9254 for Bacoor, stating the added benefits of FREE MOVIE WATCHING BENEFIT twice (2x) a week every Monday and Tuesday.

BRIEF PROFILE
Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office is the agency mandated to uplift the living condition of the marginalized sectors of the community

VISION:   A society where poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged families and communities are empowered for an improved quality of life

MISSION   To provide social protection and promote the rights and welfare of the poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged individual, family and community to contribute to poverty alleviation and empowerment through Social Welfare Development policies, programs, projects and services implemented by the LGU with GO's, NGO's, PO's and members of the civil society as partners.

MSWDO-Bacoor has five major programs being implemented :
1. FAMILY AND COMMUNITY WELFARE PROGRAM
   This program aims at the development and capability building to empower family and community members.

3. CHILD AND YOUTH WELFARE PROGRAM
   This program is intended to promote and protect the welfare of the children as per PD 603, RA 7610, RA 9344

  • VISION - A new Bacoor with no individual left uncared for, where everybody is treated with dignity and has a chance for a better life.

    MISSION - To serve as a bridge to the disadvantaged children who are victims of abused, child trafficking or child labor for their reintegration to their families and in the availment of other servicesfor their individual needs.

    GOAL - To provide temporary shelter to the disadvantaged women, children who are victims of abused, trafficking and exploitation.

4. WOMEN WELFARE PROGRAM
   The program is intended to uplift the condition of women sector through the provision of different activities and services which are geared towards an empowered women sector.

5. DISABLED AND ELDERLY WELFARE PROGRAM
   The program is intended to address and promote the welfare of the elderly and the disabled persons as per RA 9994 and RA 7277
